I can’t see a category tree on the “Categories” page

You are logged into your WordPress backend and can’t find a category tree under e.g. Posts > Categories? We explain why!

Real Category Management offers a category tree for so-called custom post types in WordPress. These are e.g. posts, pages, WooCommerce products. Each custom post type can have so-called taxonomies, which divide the content into groups. For example, the post type Posts has the taxonomy Categories.

If you expect a tree view in Posts > Categories, you expect to group not posts (custom post type), but categories (taxonomy) in some kind of groups (taxonomy). Unfortunately, WordPress core does not provide taxonomies of taxonomies and therefore Real Category Management cannot display a category tree in this view.
